Mindful sensory grounding can be used with pretty much anything, but I’ve put together a list of items that I find particularly effective.
As I mentioned in my previous post, some of these items will not be safe to use all your senses (for example, there will be some items that it would inappropriate to taste), but as part of the exercise, just notice this, acknowledge it, and move on.
- Fizzy drink
- Scented candle
- Soft toy
- Cup of tea
- Popping candy
- Hand lotion
